DC Bias Testing

Identify and isolate asymmetric nonlinearities in BL(x), Cms(x), and Le(x) — the common cause of dynamic DC displacement in high-excursion, low-Fo woofers.

Asymmetry, displacement, and root cause

A DC component in the displacement will be generated dynamically if nonlinearities — BL(x), compliance Cms(x), and Le(x) — have an asymmetric characteristic.

A common problem with a clear diagnosis

This is a common problem in high-excursion, low-Fo woofers. With the DC bias test, the issue can be easily identified — and, more importantly, its cause can be isolated for correction.
